The BioColour Library is developed in BioColour - Bio-based Dyes and Pigments for Colour Palette.
Ecologically and ethically sound production of goods requires also sustainability from colourants and processes. BioColour project develops new methods for bio-based dye and pigment production and applications. Non-toxic and biodegradable colourants enable more sustainable solutions for textiles, coatings and packaging, which is a remarkable step towards bio and circular economy.

These data come from 399 published scientific articles, conference presentations, books, or theses. The data is described with 1328 terms in English, Finnish, French, German, Spanish, or Chinese varying from colours to morphology to countries to plant parts.
The biocolour palette in BioColour Library comprises of 664 colour measurements. The measurements were either CIELAB colour coordinates or reflectance spectra or both.
